District-Level Training
A series of district-level trainings were recently concluded under the Values4All program launched by The Asia Foundation, in partnership with the National Youth Services Council and Sri Lanka Unites. The trainings took place between September to December 2018 in the districts of: Kalutara, Trincomalee, Kurunegala, Ampara, Mannar and Vavuniya. Youth trainers and participants from the National Youth Services Council of Sri Lanka, Sri Lanka Unites, Sarvodhaya and Rotaract took part in this series of trainings. The trainings were conducted in both Sinhala and Tamil by youth trainers who were formed and mentored on the Foundation’s values curriculum prior to the district-level trainings. The following core humanistic values were covered through a series of interactive activities and reflection sessions: active listening, peace, respect, compassion, tolerance, honesty and sincerity, working together and corporation. On this occasion, participants were also presented with the digitized version of the Values Curriculum which is to soon be available on Google PlayStore. In the coming year, the curriculum is to be rolled-out among various youth organizations in each above-mentioned district.
